Outline (in English)

This seminar provides a lecture on the formal structures and styles of academic writing. This seminar focuses on two primary areas. The first is essay organization: students will examine the fundamentals of outlining and structuring essays as well as practice writing a variety of essay forms. The second is academic language: students will study the specific vocabulary, conventions, and styles of writing particular to graduate school research. The goal of this seminar is to acquire the basics of research design. Before/after each class meeting, students will be expected to spend two hours to understand the seminar content. Grading will be decided based on proposal paper (40%) and in-class presentation (60%).
