Outline (in English)

(Course outline)
In order to understand the current international situation, we will study the political and social development of Russia in modern times from various perspectives. This lecture provides an overview of the modern history of Russia, from the Russian Empire through the Russian Revolution to World War II.

(Learning activities outside of classroom)
Read the handouts and look up any words or phrases you do not understand in reference books or on the Internet.
Work on the assignments presented in the lectures, review and prepare for them. The standard time for preparation and review for this lecture is 2 hours each.

(Grading Criteria/Policy)
Comprehensive evaluation is based on the submission of assignments given during lectures (60%) and final examinations at the end of the semester (40%).
Note that the grade evaluation ratio (%) is only a guideline, and details will be presented during the lecture while observing the attendance status. We highly value the willingness and enthusiasm of the students to learn, so we welcome any reports, impressions of the lectures and videos, etc. Mobile phones and private conversations are prohibited during lectures.
Taking regular exams is a requirement for credit certification. Since the exam will be held during the regular exam period, please be prepared to take the exam on the exam date.
