Outline (in English)

The purpose of this course is to acquire an overview of the English linguistics. The course will focus on important issues in the fields such as World Englishes, Morphology, Semantics, Pragmatics, Sociolinguistics, Stylistics and English teaching.

The leaning object of this class is to have an overview of the English linguistics and also become able to locate one's own research interest in the field.

Students need to read the chapter before attending the class and also to review what they have learned in the class after the class.

The grade includes the term end exam (70%), academic essays (10%), and attendance (20%). Any change will be announced in the class or by Hoppii.
