Outline (in English)

Under the theme of the characteristics and utilization of various information media, this course will explain how to acquire knowledge and skills to handle information, including the means to collect information as well as the issue of copyright, which are required for us to live in the information society of the 21st century. It will also explain how to acquire the skills necessary for dealing with the traditional media, such as books and magazines, within an information and communication environment that continues to develop day by day, on the Internet and various electronic media.
The objective of this course is to provide students with a broad range of knowledge and skills related to the “handling of information” required in the advanced information and communication society, including the Internet, various electronic information and communication devices, and analog contents such as conventional paper media.
I will give instructions in class. The standard preparatory study and review time for this class is 2 hours each.
Performance in class 30% + assignments 70%.
For assignments, students gain points as they clear each of a set of specified goals.
