Outline (in English)

【授業の概要(Course outline)】
Environmental problems come in various shapes and components, and a scientific perspective is extremely important in understanding them.
In this class, we will look at environmental problems from the past to the present, and after learning the role of environmental science, we will learn about individual fields that are deeply related to our lives from the perspective of environmental science.
Through this class, students will be able to understand why various environmental problems are occurring around them and learn what elements they contain. In the process of learning, we aim to acquire perspectives for understanding and solving environmental problems.

【到達目標(Learning Objectives)】
As the basis of environmental science, students will learn about the atmosphere, indoor environment, water environment, soil environment, waste, odors, noise, vibration, and chemical substances.
In class, students will understand the factors surrounding environmental issues that are particularly familiar to them, and will learn that issues are interrelated and multifaceted.
Environmental science is the foundation of solving environmental problems. By taking this class, students will be able to understand the environment around them, how past problems were solved.
By understanding past problems and approaches to solving them, we aim to acquire perspectives for understanding and solving new problems.

The standard preparation and review time for this class is 2 hours each.

【成績評価の方法と基準(Grading Criteria /Policy)】
Grading will be done by quizzes (30%) and final exams (70%) according to class content.

Evaluation is based on the degree of basic comprehension of the item, and the degree of summary and consideration of the theme from multiple perspectives.
