Outline (in English)

The aim of this lecture is to understand the history of modern Japanese Buddhism. Japanese Buddhism has modernized their theology, practice, institutions. This lecture helps students to acquire the knowledge about the history of modern Japanese Buddhism. Students will be expected to have completed the required assignments after each class meeting. Your study time will be more than four hours for a class. Your overall grade in the class will be decided based on the following: Term-end report: 50%, in class contribution: 50%.
