Outline (in English)

(Course Outline) The role of the third sector, including environmental movements, NGOs/NPOs, and volunteers, which is not governments nor companys are essential to solve environmental problems in contemporary society. This class will focus on the third sector and explain the theories of social movements and NPOs and their role in solving environmental problems. Students will learn the ways to be engaged in the process of environmental problems from the standpoint of residents and citizens.
(Learning Objectives) Being able to explain the role of the third sector, including environmental movements, NGOs/NPOs, and volunteers to solve environmental problems in contemporary society. Being able to propose the ways to be engaged in the process of environmental problems from the standpoint of residents and citizens.
(Learning Activities Outside of Classroom) Students should pay attention to news about environmental problems and policies and collect information daily. Students should review the previous class based on the resumes and read references. The standard preparation and review time for this class is 2 hours each.
(Grading Criteria/Policy) Regular Work (30%) + Final Examination (70%). Regular work will be submitting reaction papers or assignments.
