Outline (in English)

【Learning Objectives】
This course on Sociology of the Body and Medicine will examine sociocultural aspects of our knowledge and experiences on the body. By completing this course, students are expected to be able to identify social issues pertaining to the theme of this class in their everyday lives and analyze them critically using sociological perspectives.

【Course outline】
We will consider topics including social class, gender, race, eugenics, and bioethics. After each lecture, students are expected to reflect on the contents and outline their thoughts on their comment sheets.

【Learning activities outside of classroom】
Preparatory study and review time for this class are 2 hours each.

【Grading Criteria /Policy】
Participation: 30%; Assignments 20%; Exams 50%
