Outline (in English)

【Learning Objectives】
In this course, students are expected to gain foundational knowledge of sociological theory and the ability to apply such knowledge to issues we face in contemporary society.

【Course outline】
Specific topics to be covered include inequality, education, gender, race and ethnicity, and globalization. Each class consists of lectures and activities to apply theories to social issues we have today.

【Learning activities outside of classroom】
Preparatory study and review time for this class are 2 hours each.

【Grading Criteria /Policy】
Participation (including small weekly assignments) 50%; Exams 50%
