Outline (in English)

This course covers the basics of cultural anthropology, which seeks to understand cultural and social diversity in the world. We especially focus on the parent-child relations, kinship and marriage to understand social relations which connect people in everyday life. The goals of this course are to understand the contemporary meaning of kinship and social relations from anthropological perspective. Before/after each class meeting, students will be expected to spend four hours to understand the course content. Grading will be decided based on term-end report (40%) and in class contribution (60%).
