Outline (in English)

【Course outline】
This course focuses on "actors" in global society, which are not only nation-states but also NGOs and private companies. It enables students to analyze the global issues from various perspectives and to recognize the significance of "actor-oriented" and theoretical approach in international studies.

【Learning Objectives】
By the end of the course, students should be able to do the followings:
1) explaining the influences exerted by non-state actors in "international relations".
2) explaining the incidents or problems relevant to "international relations" from theoretical viewpoints.
3) being able to read the relevant literatures critically and analytically.

【Learning activities outside of classroom】
Before/after each class meeting, students will be expected to spend four hours to understand the course content or to write a short essay on a given topic.

【Grading Criteria /Policy】
Grading will be decided based on a short essay at each class meeting (50%) and a term-end report (50%).
