Outline (in English)

【Course Outline】
Students will learn the basic theoretical frameworks of Orientalism and gender studies, and then apply them to the analysis of actual art works of various genres (ex. opera, ballet, film, theater).

【Learning Objectives】
Students will learn how to compare and analyze films and theatrical performances while taking into consideration their sociohistorical contexts.


【Learning Activities outside of Classroom】
Students are expected to submit their answers to weekly study questions by due date.

【Grading Criteria/Policy】
Assignments: 50%
Active Participation in class discussion: 20%
