Course outline
This course introduces modern Chinese literatures through the development of society since the beginning of 20th century.

Learning Objectives
The goals of this course are to understand modern Chinese society and culture.

Learning activities outside of classroom
Before each class meeting, students will be expected to have read the relevant chapter(s) from the text. Your required study time is at least two hours for each class meeting.

Grading Criteria /Policies
Your overall grade in the class will be decided based on the following Term-end examination: 60%, Short reports /in class contribution: 40%.
