Outline (in English)

Course outline
This course introduces the Chinese philosophy in major Chinese classics like Confucius, Tao Te Ching, Zhuanzi, and the Art of War to students taking this course.

Learning Objectives
To be able to deeply understand modern Japanese society by learning the basic knowledge of Chinese philosophy.

Learning activities outside of classroom
Read the parts of the textbooks that were not mentioned in the lesson to supplement the understanding of the lesson contents.

Grading Criteria/Policy
Grades will be evaluated with 40% reaction paper (submitted each time at the end of class) and 60% final exam.
If you are absent 5 times or more, you will not be eligible to take the final exam. Also, if you are late class twice, you will be considered as absent once.
