Outline (in English)

Subculture is classified as popular culture and popular hobby as an emerging culture epidemic, but it becomes somewhat mainstream culture as sophistication is added by expressers. Crossing all genres across literature, art, music, cartoons, movies, travel, fashion and food culture, politics, and science, we acquire miscellaneous culture that will also serve as the foundation of communication skills through consideration of cultural epidemics in general.Especially focusing on technology theory, we consider the transformation of the form of culture by the age.The goals of this course are to acquire new awareness of subcultures, comprehensive understanding of subculture genres, and knowledge of historical background.A written test will be given but active participation in the discussion will also be appreciated. Before each class meeting, students will be expected to have read the relevant chapter(s) from the text. Your required study time is at least 4 hours for each class meeting. The evaluation criteria are 20% for normal points and 80% for multiple-choice test. Based on this grade evaluation method, those who have achieved 60% or more of the achievement target of this class will be accepted.
