Outline (in English)

〔Course outline〕
Chinese Application I~IV are the Chinese courses for intermediate learners who have completed the SA (Study Abroad) program. The aim of Chinese Application I~IV is to maintain and improve Chinese communication skills which were acquired in the SA program. To achieve this aim, it is important to develop the four language skills, of listening, speaking, reading and writing.
This course will focus mainly upon improving listening and reading skills through the use of e-Learning and past exams.
Chinese Application IV is a Chinese course designed specifically for the students who want to prepare for the HSK, Chinese proficiency test, level 4 and 5. This course will focus upon expanding vocabulary and improving listening and reading skills through the use of e-Learning and past exams. Students will also do mock examinations of the HSK through the use of a test simulator to help students prepare for the HSK tests.
〔Learning Objectives〕
The goal of this course is to develop the students' ability to understand and use Chinese language at a level required of the HSK6.
〔Learning activities outside of classroom〕
Students will be expected to have completed the required assignments before each class. These assignments are expected to require four or more hours for students to complete.
〔Grading Criteria /Policy〕
Grading will be decided based on assignments(80%) and mock examinations(20%).
