Outline (in English)
【Course Outline】
Chinese Application I～IV are the Chinese courses for intermediate learners who have completed the SA (Study Abroad) program. The aim of Chinese Application I～IV is to maintain and improve the Chinese communication skills which are acquired in the SA program. To achieve this aim, it is important to develop the four skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing. In this course, we will mainly improve the reading skill.
We will mainly read the news or critique in Chinese newspapers or magazines.
【Learning Objectives】
At the end of the course, participants should be able to efficiently read news articles and critiques using dictionaries and the Internet.
【Learning activities outside of classroom】
Before each class meeting, participants will be expected to translate exercises for reading comprehension（in the 2nd to 4th classes）、to read and translate specified news articles （in the 5th to 13th classes）. Your study time will be one or two hours.
【Grading Criteria/Policy】
Final grade will be calculated according to the following process: Translation of basic exercises (20%) and reading comprehension test conducted at the end of the semester (80%) ．

授業の概要と目的（何を学ぶか）Outline and objectives
中国語アプリケーションは、SA（Study Abroad）プログラムによる留学を終え、中級レベルの中国語コミュニケーション能力を有する学生を主たる対象として、中国語コミュニケーション能力の維持及び向上を図ることを目的とした授業である。本授業では特に「読む」能力を重点的に育成する。
到達目標Goal
本授業の到達目標は、これまで積み上げてきた中国語能力を基礎に、長文の読解力を身につけ、それを翻訳力にまで高めることをめざしている。具体的には、中国の報道記事や評論文を辞書やネットを使用しながら十分に読めるレベルを目標としている。

新華社のニュースサイトや中央電視台ニュースアプリなど各種サイトが提供する報道記事を熟読し、和訳することによって中国語の読解力、翻訳力を高めるとともに、中国の政治、経済、社会、文化、歴史について理解を深める。
課題等へのフィードバックはHoppiiの掲示板や授業時間を通じて行う。

三潴正道『論説体中国語読解力養成講座』の第Ⅱ部論説体解析講座の練習問題を各自で翻訳し、第2回から第4回までの授業に備える、また、プリント教材（報道記事など）を読み、翻訳し、第5回から第13回までの授業に備えておく。本授業の準備・復習時間は、各1～2時間程度。

成績評価の方法と基準Grading criteria
第Ⅱ部論説体解析講座の練習問題の翻訳（20％）と学期末に実施する読解力テスト（80％）で達成度を判定する。この成績評価の方法をもとに、本授業の到達目標の 60%以上を達成した者を合格とする。授業への出席は成績評価の大前提となる。
