Outline (in English)

The course explores the relationship between religions and societies by taking up issues ranging from secularization, post-secular, informatization, globalization, to "cult" so that students can acquire an academic perspective on these topics and deepen their reflections on various issues related to religions.

By the end of the course, students are expected to be able to: 1) understand the basic concepts and theories that are important to examine the relationship between religion and society, and 2) use analytical concepts and theories to analyze case studies of the relationship between religion and society.

Students will be expected to review each class and explore the problems and questions that they wrote in their reaction papers.

The final grade will be decided by reaction paper (40%) and the final assignment (60%).
