Outline (in English)

This course aims to develop human resources with entrepreneurial skills (e.g. people who are responsible for setting up new businesses in major companies, entrepreneurs, etc.). Through themes (tasks) provided by start-up entrepreneurs and the creation of new businesses at major companies, students gain an understanding of the qualities required of entrepreneurs and develop skills and mind-set by actually working on business idea formulation through group work over several sessions.
*This class will be run completely online using ZOOM, etc.
*Part of the lecture content may overlap in the first/second semester, but the participating companies and start-up entrepreneurs who will provide cases will differ.

【Learning Objectives】
(i) Understand and experience the skills and mind-set (entrepreneurship) required to start a business or create a new business.
(ii) To be exposed to changes in the industry and industry trends, to think about what they should continue to learn and to set career goals.
(iii) Be able to think and express their own views during group work.
(iv) Be able to present their own plans.


【Learning activities outside of classroom】
Read in advance about the new businesses of the major companies who will be speaking, as well as books, company websites, interview articles and related News from start-up entrepreneurs.
Assume that fieldwork*, group discussions and preparation of documents will be conducted in order to actually formulate business ideas and business plans in groups.
For fieldwork, it is assumed that online conference systems such as ZOOM will be used.


【Grading Criteria /Policy】
(i) Attendance and participation in discussions 60%
(ii) Mini-report 20%
(iii) Business plan (presentation and documents) 20%.
