Outline (in English)
[Course outline]
This lecture introduces the determinants of the economic development in China from a microeconomic perspective, using many kinds of data (i.e., government official statistical data, academic survey data etc.). The topics’ targets focus on individuals, households, firms, and industry sectors. We will discuss some special issues on state-owned enterprise reform, enterprise innovation, industrial structural transformation, inequality issues such as income and social security inequality between rural and urban residents and understand the facts, issues and mechanisms in Chinese economy from a microeconomic perspective.
[Learning Objectives]
The goal is to understand the situations and issues in Chinese economy development from a microeconomic perspective, and to acquire the academic ability to explain the factors and issues of Chinese economic development based on the theories in economics and the data from Chinese government statistical data sources and many kinds of academic surveys.
[Learning activities outside of classroom]
Students who have not taken other courses related to the Chinese economy (e.g., development economics, microeconomics, industrial organization economics, economic policy, etc.) should read the textbooks or introductions on those courses in advance. Download the learning materials in advance through the learning support system (Hoppii) and understand the content of each lesson. The standard time for preparation and review for each lesson is 2 hours each.

授業の概要と目的（何を学ぶか）Outline and objectives
本講義はミクロ経済の視点から中国の経済発展の要因を検討し、労働者・家計、企業、産業などの具体的な課題について、さまざまなデータ（たとえば、中国政府公表の統計データ、実態調査データ）を活用し、国有企業改革、企業生産とイノベーション、産業集積と産業構造転換、格差問題(例えば、都市と農村間の所得格差と社会保障格差)などについて考察し、ミクロレベルで中国経済の実態と問題点を検討する。
到達目標Goal
中国経済に関しては、ミクロレベルの視点から、経済発展の実態および問題点を把握したうえで、自らが経済学の諸理論やモデルを適用して、中国政府統計データおよび様々な調査データを活用し、中国経済発展のミクロ要因および問題点を説明できる能力を身につけることを目標とする。
The goal is to understand the situations and issues in Chinese economy development from a microeconomic perspective, and to acquire the academic ability to explain the factors and issues of Chinese economic development based on the theories in economics and the data from Chinese government statistical data sources and many kinds of academic surveys.

パワーポイント資料にもとづいて講義形式で行う。なお、適宜、DVD・ビデオ等、テレビ・映画を含む媒体を利用する場合があります。１回以上のリアルタイムオンライン実施。課題（レポート等）に対するフィードバックを行います。具体的には、授業の初めに、前回の授業で提出されたリアクションペーパーからいくつか取り上げ、全体に対してフィードバックを行い、また「学習支援システム」（Hoppii）を通じて行います。

農村貧困実態と地域間の差異、農村貧困の原因、および農村貧困対策について理解する

金融改革の歴史、現代における金融システムと金融政策、株式市場と国有企業、国有銀行の改革について理解する

土地政策と住宅政策の変遷、住宅制度と住宅金融制度の改革、住宅と不動産市場の実態と問題点について理解する

教育制度と改革、人的資本理論と格差問題、「大学統一試験」（「高考」）の変遷、高等教育拡大政策、大学生就職難問題の原因について理解する
第12回[対面/face to face]：社会保障政策の改革
人口高齢化と社会保障制度の改革、都市部と農村部の社会保障の格差、社会保障と労働市場について理解する
第13回[対面/face to face]：労働雇用・賃金政策の改革
計画経済期の雇用・賃金政策の特徴、市場経済期の雇用・賃金政策の変遷、賃金格差の実態について理解する
