Outline (in English)

【Course outline】
This course intends to provide students with basic knowledge which is essential to understand the nature of current international relations. This course mainly focuses on the interstate relations regarding security issues, and explores historical backgrounds and theoretical conceptions.
【Learning objectives】
1. To acquire knowledge of historical developments and theoretical conceptions of international politics
2. To acquire the ability to explain current issues of international politics logically and with evidence
【Learning activities outside of classroom】
Before each class: To read assigned part of the textbook (2 hours)
After each class: To review the slide (2 hours)
【Grading Criteria/Policy】
Midterm exam (30%): Online (Via Learning Support System of Hosei University)
Final exam (70%): Classroom
