Outline (in English)

This course introduces an understanding of Japanese, Chinese and Korean histories in respect to international relations with other Asian and Western countries. The aim of this course is to help students acquire historical changes in politics, economy, organization, military affairs, agriculture, culture and diplomacy.

Learning Objectives: The goal of this course is to understand the flow of Chinese history, the factors and backgrounds that created the historical facts, their influence and development, and the mutual influence and international relations with the surrounding areas.

Learning activities outside of classroom: Before/after each class meeting, students will be expected to spend four hours to understand the course content.

Grading Criteria/Policies: Your overall grade in the class will be decided based on assignments at each class meeting (30%) and term-end examination(70%).
