Outline (in English)

【Course outline】
The purpose of this lecture is to analyze and consider the structure, functions, and roles of networks and organizations, focusing mainly on networks and organizations (companies and corporations) in the social structure of Japan. Specifically, from the perspective of the social sciences (mainly sociology, business administration, economics, and law), we will examine phenomena related to social networks, including SNS, from both theoretical and empirical perspectives. We also introduce models and hypotheses related to mathematical sociology, such as the small-world model, strength of weak ties, and threshold theory. Finally, we will practice the framework of the idea generation method based on network theory and decision theory and practice with specific problems. I think it will be helpful for how to read and select information about industries and companies in job hunting.

【Learning Objectives】
1 Analysis and understanding from major social science analytical frameworks targeting networks of social phenomena
2 Understanding social network hypotheses and models of mathematical sociology
3 Understanding and practice of the overall idea generation method based on network theory and decision-making theory
