Outline (in English)

The definition of "culture" varies. In this lecture, the interaction between all individuals is considered as cross-cultural exchange to contribute to the lives of the students. We experience things from time to time, and many of those experiences are shaped in ways we don't realize.

It can be said that the result of the interplay between our qualities and our previous experiences defines the way we feel, know and interpret now.

I hope this lecture will be an opportunity for you to see that the alien / different culture / others that we unknowingly exclude have the potential to make us richer.

The students will be exposed to the alien / different culture / others through watching several movies and holding group discussions on the themes I will present. I will introduce a psychoanalytic point of view.

【Goal】
Through this course, I would like to encourage students to (1) become aware of their own experiences, (2) become able to communicate them to others, (3) become more self-reflective about their own experiences, and (4) acquire skills that can enrich themselves through interaction with others.

【Methods】
In the lecture, movies are mainly shown as stimulus materials. You watch these movies paying attention to how you experience them. First, you
will try to put what you feel, imagine, reflect and think into words as much as possible, and then touch on the alien / different culture / others through group discussions. I will introduce a psychoanalytic point of view.

I will change the contents to be viewed according to the student's response. We have a hybrid of face-to-face and online classes. The learning support system will show you which way the next class will be. Feedback on assignments, etc. is given sequentially and comprehensively in class. If you personally wish to receive feedback, please let us know by email.

【Work to be done outside of class】
Pay attention to what and how you are experiencing — what you feel, what you imagine, reflect, think, and do.

【Grading criteria 】
Normal point (reaction paper, active participation in class) 40%
