Outline (in English)
【授業の概要（Course outline） 】
The aim of this course is to further deepen students' understanding of contemporary Chinese and Chinese-speaking societies and cultures through repeated practice and training in accurately reading and understanding texts in books, magazines, and newspapers written in modern Chinese (Mandarin), and through reading texts.
【到達目標（Learning Objectives） 】
By the end of the course, students should be able to do the followings:
1. Use romaji (pinyin) only as a supplement.
2. Be able to accurately analyze sentence components.
3. Become familiar with the unique expressions and structures of written language.
4. Cultivate the ability to draw analogies while becoming proficient in using a dictionary.
5. To reconfirm and reconstruct the translated text through rewriting after the study (translation)
【授業時間外の学習（Learning activities outside of classroom） 】
1. reliable preparation
2. Systematic review of grammar up to the intermediate level.
3. Search for articles in newspapers, magazines, and on the web.
4. Research and read about related topics.
5. Reconfirmation and reconstruction of reliable translations.
The standard preparation and review time for this class is 2 hours each.
【成績評価の方法と基準（Grading Criteria /Policy） 】
No term-end examination will be given. The final grade will be calculated based on the contribution made in the class (100%).

授業の概要と目的（何を学ぶか）Outline and objectives
現代漢語（中国語）で書かれた書籍・雑誌・新聞等の文章を正確に読み解く練習・訓練を繰り返す。文章の読解を通じ、現代中国および中国語圏の社会や文化に対する理解をさらに深める。
到達目標Goal
１．ローマ字（ピンイン）は補助的な使用のみにしていく
２．文成分の分析が正確にできる
３．文章語独自の表現や構造等に慣れる
４．辞書を引くことに習熟しながら「類推する力」を涵養する
５．学修（翻訳）後のリライトで訳文を再確認・再構築する

主語・述語・修飾語・補語等の文成分や文構造の分析を徹底しながら文意を正確に理解する練習を重ねる。最初はローマ字（ピンイン）つきのテキストを用いるが、常用語から段階的にテキストのピンインは消去していく。
課題についての講評や注意点などについては、授業時間内に全員に紹介し、情報を共有する。
授業計画は、授業の実際の展開によって、若干の変更があり得る。

本授業の準備学習・復習時間は、各2時間を標準とする。

推薦辞書・参考書等は、開講時に具体的に指示する。
e-learningには、「東京外国語大学言語モジュール 中国語」 http://www.coelang.tufs.ac.jp/modules/zh/ を活用すること。
成績評価の方法と基準Grading criteria
試験はおこなわず、毎回の積極的な参加と取り組みを100％として総合的に評価する。
学生の意見等からの気づきChanges following student comments
教室では従来どおり「1対多」ではなく「1対1」の集合体としての時間とする。個別の発音矯正を徹底する。支障がある学生は、事前に教員に連絡すること。
授業終了後、しばらく残るので、質問や連絡などがあれば個別に申し出ること。
その他の重要事項Others
せっかく「初級」・「中級」と積み上げてきた中国語なので、もう一踏ん張りして、仕事や研究で実際に「使える中国語」に取り組んでほしい。「上級」とはいえ、専攻課程ならば基礎を終えた2年次程度の内容から始める。
将来の留学や研究・業務に役立てるため本格的に読解力の向上に取り組みたい好奇心旺盛な学生は大歓迎である。漢語文化圏における「現在進行形」の政治や経済・社会・文化に興味をもち、記事をもとに全員で活発な議論が展開できることを期待している。
