Outline (in English)

This course deals with computational methods for solving unsteady problems of PDEs (partial differential equations), showing the finite difference method, finite element method, and finite volume method. After explaining the computational methods of unsteady convection-diffusion equations, the conservation laws of compressible fluids are taken up as hyperbolic partial difference equations, and its modern numerical methods (TVD schemes) are shown.
By the end of this course, students should be able to understand computational methods of unsteady problems of the PDEs.
Before/after each class meeting, students will be expected to spend four hours to understand the course contents.
Grading will be decided based on report assignments (100%) on the premise of in-class contribution.
