Outline (in English)
This course will be an interactive lecture. In this course, you are going to have a presentation about what we learn in the class related to Japanese Language and a question and answer session.
Learning objectives of this class:
Students learn investigation, analysis, and consideration regarding Japanese language studies, and students prepare documents to have presentations.
Focus on theorizing your thoughts about Japanese language studies from different perspective and era.
Acquire the necessary skill and knowledge for writing master’s thesis.
Learning activities outside of classroom:
Students need to research about their study theme and subject via website such as CiNii and make sure if there is still room for research.
Use the library for study and students can come to the laboratory for consultation before or after the class if needed.
As preparation and review of the class, students will be expected to spend about 2 hours.
Grading Criteria/Policies:
Your overall grade in the class will be decided based on the following:
Presentation (50%), Report (50%).

授業の概要と目的（何を学ぶか）Outline and objectives
日本語学の研究方法について学びます。この授業では、上代・中古・中世における文学作品について言語学的に考え、正しく解釈する方法を学ぶことを目的にします。
到達目標Goal
日本語研究に関する調査・分析・考察を学び、プリントを作成して発表する。時代を問わず、様々な視点から自分なりの論を立てられるようになることを目的にした授業です。修士論文の作成に役立つ知識やスキルを身につけることが到達目標です。

授業時間外の学習（準備学習・復習・宿題等）Work to be done outside of class (preparation, etc.)
研究テーマや課題について、先ずはサイニーなどで先行研究を調査し、研究する余地があるか否か、よく考えて図書館等を大いに活用し、もしわからないことがあれば、授業の前後など、いつでも研究相談に来て下さい。本授業の準備学習・復習時間は、各2 時間を標準とします。
テキスト（教科書）Textbooks
プリントを配布し、テキストは指定しません。
参考書References
『新編日本古典文学全集』（小学館）など、研究テーマにそって、そのつど紹介します。
成績評価の方法と基準Grading criteria
春学期における発表とレポートを各50％で評価します。
学生の意見等からの気づきChanges following student comments
留学生の受講生が、年々多くなっているので、わかりやすい授業を心がけるようにします。加えて、100分授業における発表者数についても工夫します。
