Outline (in English)

[Course outline]
The goal of this class is to improve the various powers necessary for graduate students of Doctoral Course to be able to carry out their own research. For that purpose, students will acquire the PDCA cycle to plan and execute research activities, self-evaluate results, and make use of it in the next plan.
[Learning Objectives]
By the end of the course, students should be able to do the following:
a.Students can accurately analyze their own research abilities.
b.Students can reasonably formulate goals for the entire doctoral course, mid-term goals for each year, and small goals for each semester.
c.Students can devise concrete action plans and achievement indicators based on the contents of a and b above.
d.Students actually act based on the contents of a, b, and c above.
e.Students can properly self-evaluate their achievement in semester units based on the contents of a, b, c, and d above.
f.Students can utilize the self-evaluation of e above to set the next goal.
[Learning activities outside of classroom]
The standard preparation and review time for this class is 2 hours each.
[Grading Criteria /Policy]
The overall grade of the class is determined based on the following.
In-class contribution 40%, tasks set by each student 30%, presentation about goal setting 20%, presentation about self-evaluation 10%.
