Outline (in English)

【Course outline】The purpose of this class is to examine the progress of current research on health psychology and physiological psychology and to be able to formulate research proposals to solve problems after setting up a new research problem independently.

【Learning Objectives】By the end of the course, students should be able to:
1. Select specific issues to be studied in health psychology and physiological psychology based on the accumulation of findings from previous studies.
2. Formulate a research plan (solution method) based on specific methods for the research question.
3. Conduct research using the necessary indicators, analyze data appropriately, and write a mini-thesis.

【Learning activities outside of the classroom】In the first session, students will write a report on the methods they wish to learn in this class, search for and carefully read literature related to their set theme, and prepare for presentations in the second and third sessions. Students will read and summarize several related previous studies in the fourth and fifth sessions and prepare for the presentation, develop a research plan and prepare for the presentation in the 6th and seventh sessions. In the 8th to 10th sessions, students read the materials distributed in advance and learn how to operate the instruments, measurement methods, and analysis methods for data measurement according to the research plan. Students will analyze the measured data in the 11th and 12th sessions and prepare for the presentation, and in the 13th and 14th sessions, students will write a mini paper and prepare materials. The standard study time outside of these class hours is 2 hours each.

【Grading Criteria/Policy】Grading will be decided based on the class participation (not attendance) (50%), the presentation and discussion(30%), and the research proposal(20%).
