Outline (in English)

Course outline;
Perform network analysis using road data. Network analysis includes service area analysis, nearest facility search, OD cost matrix calculation, etc. After understanding the basic concept of these functions, we perform service area analysis of evacuation centers as an application to the real world. Create a hazard map.

Learning objectives;
(1) To be able to perform network analysis using road data, which is typical data of vector type, and to aggregate population based on the reach of facilities.
(2) To be able to create hazard maps based on evacuation behavior simulation.
(3) To be able to formulate concrete measures to apply GIS to one's own master's thesis research.

Learning activities outside of classroom;
Both the first and second semesters include practical training using GIS. The practical training requires about 2 hours of prior study per week and review outside the class (at least 2 hours per week as a rule).
