Outline (in English)

(Course outline) In this course, students will read English-language academic books on "Japanese" studies and learn how to disseminate academic research on Japan to the international community.
(Learning Objectives)1. The aim of this course is to help students understand the importance of disseminating "Japan" studies internationally by reading English literature on Japan.
2. Students will learn how to explain various geographical events in Japan, especially "Tokyo", in English, or how to translate academic terms into Japanese, by reading English texts and learning their vocabulary.
3. Students will also learn how to translate Japanese texts into English, reading Japanese references in both directions.
(Learning activities outside of classroom) Your study times will be 4 hours for a class.
(Grading Criteria /Policy) Grading will be decided based on lab reports(50%), and the quality of the students experimental performance in the lab (50%).
