Outline (in English)

Course outline: This course introduces that the present natural environment is the result of the evolution and spread of humans in the Quaternary, while promoting natural modification. In this lecture, we look at the evolution and spread of humans in the Quaternary, and learn the multilayered relationship of the environment in different natural areas such as the arid zone and the tropics.
Learning Objectives: By the end of the course, students understand the formation of the natural environment in the Quaternary from the relationship with humans.
Learning activities outside of classroom: Before/after each class meeting, students will be expected to spend four hours to understand the course content.
Grading Criteria /Policy: Final grade will be calculated according to the following process; presentations of the research project (30 %), term-end report (50 %), and in-class contribution (20 %).
