(Course outline)
The course offers tutorials on reading ancient Roman history in English. It is primarily designed for students specialised in Western history who wish to improve their reading fluency and efficiency of academic English.
(Learning Objectives)
The course aims to:
- improve the students’ ability to read academic English quickly and accurately.
- enable them to grasp important aspects as well as problems of ancient Roman history.
(Learning activities outside of classroom)
Lecture/Exercise(two-credits)
Students are expected:
- thoroughly to read the designated section of the English text before each class.
- to revise the text and their translations, in particular corrected points, after each class.
(Grading Criteria /Policy)
Grading is based on in-class contribution (100%).
