Outline (in English)
This course will be an interactive lecture. In this course, you are going to have a presentation about what we learn in the class related to Japanese Language and a question and answer session.
Learning objectives of this class:
Students learn investigation, analysis, and consideration regarding Japanese language studies, and students prepare documents to have presentations.
Focus on theorizing your thoughts about Japanese language studies from different perspective and era.
Acquire the necessary skill and knowledge for writing doctoral thesis.
Learning activities outside of classroom:
As preparation and review of the class, students will be expected to spend about 2 hours.
Use the library for study and students can come to the laboratory for consultation if needed.
Grading Criteria/Policies:
Your overall grade in the class will be decided based on the following:
Contents of Presentation (30%), In-class contribution (30%), Report (40%).

授業の概要と目的（何を学ぶか）Outline and objectives
日本語学の研究方法について学びます。この授業では、上代・中古・中世における文学作品について言語学的に考え、正しく解釈する方法を学ぶことを目的にします。
到達目標Goal
日本語研究に関する調査・分析・考察を学び、プリントを作成して発表する。時代を問わず、様々な視点から自分なりの論を立てられるようになることを目的にした授業です。博士論文の作成に役立つ知識やスキルを身につけることが到達目標です。
