Outline (in English)

<Course outline> Obtain the necessary skills to write a doctoral thesis through reading of Japanese modern literature, using specialized knowledges.
<Learning Objectives> Students will make a presentation on a theme, author, or work of their choice, based on their original awareness of the issues based on previous research results, which could be part of their doctoral dissertation, and critically examine it to write their dissertation.
<Learning activities outside of classroom> The standard preparation and review time for this class is 2 hours each.
 Students will conduct research on a theme, author, or work of their own choosing that will enable them to present their work. Students will also deepen their understanding of other students' themes, authors, and works, and acquire specialized knowledge as literary researchers.
<Grading Criteria/Policy> Grades will be based on an overall evaluation of 40% of normal points and 60% of presentations.
