Outline (in English)

【授業の概要(Course outline)】
The students of this class can clarify their own research issues by browsing previous research, and learn methods, procedures, and presentation methods in their research activities. At the same time, they can draw solutions for their Japanese language usage problems from the process.

【到達目標(Learning Objectives)】
By the end of the course, students should be able to do the followings:
1. To clarify the direction of research. Specifically, to be able to state what they will clarify about the research subject.
2. To be able to learn research methods and procedures and proceed with improving their Japanese proficiency.
3. To be able to clearly convey research topics to others in Japanese, which is the research language.

【授業時間外の学習(Learning activities outside of classroom)】
The standard preparation and review time for this class is 3 hours each for doing the following for each lecture.

1. In order to clarify the direction of your research, always search the literature and summarize the points so that you can easily present it in the class.
2. In the class, share the problem, speak positively, and devise methods.
3. Regarding Japanese proficiency, investigate "Japanese necessary for research", especially focusing on the selection of styles and expressions in formal situations.
4. Whenever there is a presentation, submit and distribute "slides" and "resumes" each time.
5. Create and submit assignments in the class based on your awareness as a Japanese language “user” not as a “learner”.
6. When presenting or submitting assignments, check with each other in class if necessary.
