Outline (in English)

The aim of this class is to help students understand the main topics in Japanese Chinese Contrastive Linguistics and to deepen the students' understanding of research methodologies in the field.

(Learning Objectives)
1.To capture the differences and similarities between Chinese and Japanese languages, and study the research methods of comparative study theoretically and systematically.
2. Cultivate the ability to read papers critically, and develop the problem awareness and analytical ability to discover language phenomena and problem points.
3. Improve research ability, and be able to explain language phenomena.

(Learning activities outside of classroom)
Before/after each class, students will be expected to spend 10 hours reviewing the course content.

(Grading Criteria /Policy)
Overall grade in the class will be decided based on the following parts:
-presentation: 40%
-discussion:20%
-final report:40%
