Outline (in English)

The learning objectives of this class are to develop the communicative competence necessary for effective participation in society and the world of work. The class aims to help students acquire a broad ability to communicate, starting from familiarity with daily conversation to explaining topics of students’ own interest or field of study, while deepening understanding of foreign cultures necessary for global citizens. Based on a firm foundation of basic skills, the class focuses on the future needs and interests of students as well as the ability to apply English to research and work in a setting of small, levelled classes for maximum effectiveness.

The goal of this class is to enhance students fluency, pronunciation ability and general comfort of participating in an English environment.
Learning activities outside this class will focus on watching video of TED talk lectures and preparing discussion and summary points. Also, regular homework-grammar and vocabulary practice from the review sections of the textbook.

This class will be student centered, largely focusing on pair work and group work( socially distanced). There will also be text based learning, focusing on vocabulary and grammar exercises that will then be used to enhance variety and interest of discussions.
Feedback will be provided to the class through chapter reviews and class-based grammar consolidation. Individual feedback will also be offered for oral communication as well as written opinion pieces.
