Outline (in English)

(Course outline)
The topics in this course contain the fundamentals on resources and their conversions to energy used for power generations. Special attention is paid to the electricity generations using renewable resources such as hydropower, wind power, solar power, biomass fuel and geothermal power.
(Learning Objectives)
The goals of this course are
A. to learn about the relationship between the energy consumption and the environmental problems,
B. to understand the characteristics of the renewable energy systems and
C. to obtain the knowledge on the efficiency of the renewable energy systems as well as on the problems of the renewable resources.
(Learning activities outside of classroom)
Students will be expected to look over the forthcoming class content and to understand the content after each class. Your study time will be more than four hours for a class on average.
(Grading Criteria /Policies)
Grading will be decided based on the report for an assignment (100%).
