Outline (in English)

(Course outline)
The topics in this course contain the fundamentals on resources and their conversions to energy used for power generations, and on the energy demand-supply relationship. Special attention is paid to the electricity power generations using the heat produced by fossil and nuclear fuels.
(Learning Objectives)
The goals of this course are
A. to learn about the energy supply and consumption in our society,
B. to understand the characteristics of various resources and the energy conversion systems from the view points of thermodynamics, and
C. to obtain the knowledge on the international and domestic trends of energy development and trading.
(Learning activities outside of classroom)
Students will be expected to look over the forthcoming class content and to understand the content after each class. Your study time will be more than four hours for a class on average.
(Grading Criteria /Policies)
Grading will be decided based on the report for an assignment (100%).
