Outline (in English)

-Course outline
Living in the 21st century, we are forced to cope with the forces of nature beyond human control, such as climate change and COVID-19.In this class, we will learn about the findings of anthropological studies that have explored the relationship between humans and the natural environment in various parts of the world, in order to relativize our own view of nature. We will also look for hints on how to deal with the new nature called the Anthropocene.
-Learning Objectives
In this class, we will approach the issue of how to understand the relationship between humans and nature from a variety of examples revealed by cultural anthropology, with the goal of cultivating the ability to tackle the environmental issues we face today, such as the SDGs and decarbonization, with global and critical thinking.
