Outline (in English)

(Course outline) This course is to learn about positioning of modern Japanese paintings in Japanese art history by contrasting with traditional painting until the Edo period.
(Learning Objectives) Through lectures,students will deepen understanding of Japanese traditions and culture.
(Learning activities outside of classroom) Before/after lecture, students will be expected to spend four hours to understand the texts.
(Grading Criteria/Policy) Final grade will be calculated according to the following process Mid-term report(30%) and term-end report(70%).
