Outline (in English)

【Course Outline】Environmental regulations and policies are easily implemented for regional/domestic environmental issues. On the other hand, environmental regulations and policies are difficult to implement for international environmental issues. In this course we will investigate various international environmental issues we face today.This course introduces key concepts in implementing environmental economic policies to tackle local and global environmental issues to students taking this course.

【Learning Objectives】At the end of the course, students are expected to 1) understand the key theoretical aspect of environmental policies and 2) propose economically efficient environmental policies for global and local environmental issues.

【Learning activities outside of classroom】Students will be expected to have completed the required assignments after each class meeting. Your study time will be more than two hours for each class.

【Grading Criteria /Policy】Your overall grade in the class will be decided based on the following
Term-end examination: 60%, homework: 30%, in-class contribution: 10%.
