Outline (in English)

【Course Outline】
The purpose of this course is to consider the relationship between environmental issues and the economy from the aspect of "environmental business." By rethinking environmental issues through analysis of corporate activities conducted in various fields such as renewable energy, energy saving, resource management, environmental risk management, etc., we aim to provide a multi-faceted view of the relationship between the environment and the economy.

【Learning Objectives】
By observing environmental businesses, you will be able to deepen a comprehensive understanding of environmental issues, analyze a company's business model, and discuss its growth potential and risks in detail. Develop corporate analysis skills by experiencing various corporate activities and learning the basic perspectives of finance and business administration. Improve presentation ability through company analysis and presentation.

【Methods】
First, understand the overall picture of the environmental business, such as market size, composition, and employment. Next, you will learn through case studies on themes such as energy, resource recycling, risk management, water, and natural capital conservation. At the same time, learn the basic idea of finance and basic analysis tools. In addition, by being in charge of individual company analysis and presentations, you will be able to experience the real image of environmental business using actual companies as materials, and to develop his presentation ability through feedback from faculty members.

【Learning Activities Outside of Classroom】
No prior knowledge is required, including finance. Emphasis is placed on fixing by review. There are many things you can get by attending a lecture with an awareness of how the industry / company you are interested in is involved in environmental issues.

Since lectures are often made from large companies, we will impose a mini-report on venture companies as an issue every time (submit by the next week). In addition, we will ask you to analyze and present the company as a team or as an individual. Many past students recall that this experience was useful, including questions and feedback from teachers and other students. The standard for each preparatory study / review and homework is about 1 hour, but apart from this, it takes a considerable amount of time to prepare for the presentation. It is necessary to actively participate in the creation of such analysis and presentation materials.

【Grading Criteria/Policy】
This lecture emphasizes the establishment of knowledge through discussions, etc., rather than one-way classroom lectures, and attending classes is a major premise for evaluation. After that, make a comprehensive judgment based on company analysis / presentation (50%), issues related to environmental businesses such as venture companies imposed each time (30%), and contribution to discussions in lectures (20%). increase. Due to individual guidance regarding presentations, etc., the number of participants may be adjusted if there are many applicants.
