Outline (in English)

<Course Outline>
This course will give you the fundamental principles of United States environmental law. Among those, the National Environmental Policy Act, Superfund (CERCLA) and nature conservation law are highly evaluated. On the other hand, the prevention of air pollution is lagging behind the global tide.

<Learning Objectives>
The goals of this course is to develop a basic understanding of the internationally influential American environmental law. In addition, by learning the characteristics of American environmental law, you will be able to compare it with environmental law in Japan.

<Learning Activities outside of Classroom>
Students will be expected to prepare and review using the prints distributed in each class. Please study basic terms and legal logic with those prints. Your required preparatory study and review time for this class is 2 hours each.

<Grading Criteria/Policy>
The grades of this subject will be evaluated by the in-class examination conducted in the 14th class (100%).
