Outline (in English)

This course is the continuation of the spring semester, and is required for all the 1st year graduate students. It provides students with a general scope in three prominent research areas of this graduate school, and attempts to cultivate desirable views to encompass in such a broad cross-disciplinary environment.

The students are expected to spend a total of 4 hours in reviewing and preparing for each class meeting.

The grading criteria is as follows: 40% participation, 60% assignments. Students that successfully achieve 60% or more of course goals will be able to earn a passing grade for the course.
