Outline (in English)

International transactions have become increasingly important to every country in the world today. These are mainly transactions in goods, services and financial assets that require currencies as the medium of exchange. In this course we will learn about these international transactions, with a special focus on financial assets and currencies. In the PhD course we put more weight on understanding and applying basic theories and empirical methods in international finance.
To deepen understanding, the students are expected to read the class materials (lecture notes, textbooks, and related journal papers) after each lecture. Also, homework is assigned frequently.
Grading is based on the students' homework and (midterm & final) report performance.
