Outline (in English)

This course is graduate-level introduction to industrial organization and managerial economics.

The goal of this course is that students understand various models in the fields and acquire modeling skills for their own research interests. This course will focus on the topics as follows: pricing strategy, cartel, horizontal and vertical merger, vertical restraints, and so on.

Students will be expected to thoroughly prepare each class meeting using course materials which provided through HOPPII (about two hours required), and, if required, to complete a homework assignment through HOPPII (about two hours required).

Students are also expected to have solid comprehension of undergraduate microeconomics.

The grade will be based on the final exam (50-95%) and the homework (5-50%).
