Outline (in English)

・Course outline: This course introduces the multifaceted social and economic value of the arts in recent years, and it will also clarify their position and significance in modern society.
・Learning Objectives: The goal is to learn about the art frameworks in modern society. In addition to focusing on art managers who connect "art" and "society," we will examine how these "linkers" are developing their activities in local communities and companies.
・Learning activities outside of the classroom: Students will be expected to research art sites such as museums, theatres, live houses, music festivals, and local art projects, conduct field research on various aspects of art and its issues in contemporary Japan, and summarize the results in a report. The standard preparation and review time for this class is 2 hours each.
・Grading Criteria /Policies: Your overall grade in the class will be decided based on the following Term-end examination: 40%、Short reports & in-class contribution: 60%
