Outline (in English)

[Course outline]
Social survey is a process and method to understand social phenomena by collecting data from real society and analyzing the obtained data. In this lecture, we will make a foundation for research on graduation thesis and learning in seminars after the second semester, such as “Career research survey method (qualitative and quantitative survey)” courses.

[Learning Objectives]
In this course, students will master the basic concepts and skills of social research by developing their knowledge and skills in basic mathematics, Japanese and social studies that they have learned up to high school.

[Learning activities outside of classroom]
You may be given homework and prep assignments. The standard preparation and review time for this class is 2 hours each.

[Grading Criteria /Policy]
Mid-term exam (30%), final exam (70%)
